History of the Server - The Intro
Incogcraft started as a friends only SMP made by DevSpy in 2020. It was later opened to the public and was turned into a project, DevSpy officially created Incogcraft on 6/10/2022.
Season 1 — The Beginning
Season 1 started as the server was opened to the public, it was in version 1.19.2 and featured minimal plugins, not many players were playing at the time, it reached an all time player peak of about 11 players. It lasted until about August-September of 2022.
Season 2 — Growing Up
Season 2 was a MAJOR advancement from Season 1. Still based in version 1.19.2, it featured more plugins, and allowed players from newer and older versions to join (by ViaVersion and ViaRewind) and it featured a proper Lobby/Spawn, the IP was also officially changed to 'play.incogcraft.com' This lasted until about January 9th of 2022. It had more players and reached an all time peak of about 14 players at once, the server hosting service that was being used actually crashed because of how many players.
Season 3 - Full Anarchist
Season 3 was Incogcraft's "Emo" era. Season 3 was Lifesteal AND Anarchy thrown together. Before Season 3 started, we had a partnership with 'Argon Hosting' which has shut down since, Argon offered Incogcraft a beefy enough server to host Season 3 with minimal lag. This Season was the first time that the store was introduced with the ranks, they had unique perks and bonuses. This Season would be considered the biggest and most popular, featuring a peak amount of players of 21. It officially ended in February 2023
Season 4 - The Downfall
When Season 4 Launched, Incogcraft's playerbase dwindled down. This was due to players becoming too busy for Minecraft, or they were starting to focus on their life. That didn't stop Incogcraft from having a decent amount of players. Season 4 featured the most plugins ever seen on Incogcraft and had the most amount of staff, development, and memories for all the players who played. Season 4 saw a peak of 17 players, had a few events, a lot of features were revamped, the store and ranks were rebuilt to be better fitting for the server. This Season is widely considered to be one of the greatest yet saddest Seasons in the server. This is due to the fact that nearing March 5th of 2023, the player count slowly dropped and the Discord was slowly becoming more inactive and dead. On March 5th, 2023, 1:30PM CDT, the server officially closed. There was no warning, no announcement, nothing. It was just gone. Marking the end of Season 4 of Incogcraft.
The 'Death' of Incogcraft
On March 5th, 2023, 1:30PM CDT, the server officially closed. There was no warning, no announcement, nothing. It was just gone. Leaving players of the server in confusion. Server member 'CreeperKing' asked "why did it close anyway what's stopping it from staying up" In response to this, DevSpy, also known as Spy said "its useless, never worked and i lost motivation" After that was said, the server was officially considered to be fully gone. There was no further mention of the server after that. Occasionally some server members, involving Head Staff 'Leizy', Admin (now Dev) 'Siege' and a few other members would talk about reviving the server mostly half heartedly knowing that it wouldn't happen In January of 2025, Siege made a 'Revival' of the server, it rarely got players, it shut down shortly after around valentines of 2025. Sparking more talk of an Official Revival in general. Siege's revival caused the Discord to become a bit more active though.
The Return of Incogcraft
On the 27th of July, 2026, Spy contacted Siege and asked for his help in making an official revival of Incogcraft. Siege gladly agreed. Between the 27th and the 29th of July, The server was rebuilt, a new hosting service was used, a new domain was bought and the server was rebuilt.
Notable Moments
Between the Intro and the Retun, there was a lot of notable moments. In Season 1, IncogHippo streamed a lot, The original server wasn't a lot, but it is a very notable time.
Season 2 brought the lobby, it had some really cool stuff, a slime pit to bounce in, and one of the members on the server built a castle.
Season 3 had no major notable moments except for on the last day when someone built a TNT duper wall, destroying the server in the last moments of Season 3.
Season 4 had a lot of farms, dupers, and OP villager trading halls, It was the era of cooperation and had some really cool builds, Someone built a McDonald's, Someone made a big castle, Another person built a Cathedral.
Where We Are Now
All of this returns us to present day, the server being opened, improved, and actively maintained, creating a (hopefully) fun, interactive, and enjoyable server for everyone to play on.
